LIBO FIELD GUIDE / Travelling with friends · Sharing costs
Libo with three or four friends: rooms, transfers and a per-person budget
'How much per person?' needs a date, group size, room arrangement and a clear list of what is included. Breaking down the whole-group cost shows where the money goes and which parts you can adjust.
Agree on rooms and beds before asking for a total price
A group of three or four does not automatically need the same room arrangement as another group of the same size. Agree who shares with whom, how many beds you need and how many nights you will stay before asking about room types. Two double rooms and two twin rooms cannot be assumed to have the same price or offer the same experience.
'Sleeps four' is no substitute for details of the beds, bathroom and space. If someone wants a room to themselves, agree in advance whether they will cover the extra room cost, rather than discussing the split after the itinerary is settled.
Use this table to break down your local budget
This is a calculation template, not a market quote. Enter actual prices for your travel dates and mark anything already included in a package so that you do not count it twice.
| Item | How to calculate it | Information to include when asking for a quote |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation | Nightly price for each room type × rooms × nights | Beds, breakfast and cancellation terms |
| Local transfers | Add quotes priced by journey or by vehicle | Start and end points, people, luggage and waiting arrangements |
| Scenic areas and activities | Check each person's required ticket type, then add them up | Whether local scenic-area transport or optional activities are included |
| Meals | Expected number of meals × whole-group allowance | Keep meals you choose separately from included meals |
| Personal spending | Allow for each person individually | Shopping, individual activities and other choices |
List travel to and from Libo separately, then compare quotes
Friends leaving from different cities can each list their own travel to and from Libo, then compare local costs together. Check rail journeys by date on 12306 and base your budget on services currently bookable or tickets already purchased, rather than somebody else's old fare.
When comparing two combined quotes, ask for itemised costs using the same room types, group size, pick-up and drop-off points, and inclusions. Even if totals are similar, compare cancellation terms and exclusions. Keep the experiences that matter to you first, then adjust optional spending.
- Departure date, group size and number of nights.
- Each person's preferences for beds, room sharing and budget.
- Anything already booked, to avoid duplicate quotes.
- Transfer start and end points and the amount of luggage.

Frequently asked questions
Is travelling as four always cheaper than travelling as two?
Not necessarily. A vehicle-priced cost may be lower per person, but rooms, beds, vehicle capacity and individual ticket types may also change. Recalculate for the specific arrangement.
Should the per-person budget include high-speed train tickets?
It can, but list them separately. Travel costs from different departure cities can vary considerably. Separating the local budget from travel to and from Libo makes comparisons clearer.
Can I get an accurate quote by giving only a total budget?
A total budget gives a direction, but the date, group size, room types and transfer points are still needed. Without those details, you can discuss options, but an estimate is not a final quote.
