Between landscapes, make time to learn about people
A Libo rural-tourism route published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism introduces Yaoshan Ancient Village and Baiku Yao culture. Later route information places the village in the southwestern part of Yaoshan Yao Ethnic Township. It can add a cultural experience alongside landscape visits.
Instead of treating the village as a photographic backdrop, bring a question you want to explore: how a garment is made, how a craft is passed on, or which details of daily life reward a closer look.
Choose an interest, then ask how to take part that day
The ministry's 2023 route mentions Yao embroidery, the monkey-drum dance, spinning tops, traditional paste-resist dyeing and Yao pottery. Use these as starting points for your interests, then ask the scenic area or actual provider which displays and activities are open that day and how to join.
If you want to see a performance, confirm the time and venue for your date. If you prefer making something, ask what the activity involves, its participation conditions and what the price includes. A historical list does not mean every activity is available every day.

A slow village visit still needs time for transport and pauses
Whether leaving from your hotel or Libo Station, check the scenic-area entrance, the actual location of your activity and the return meeting point separately. If pairing the village with Xiaoqikong, build the schedule from that day's activities and actual transport. Do not apply historical journey times for a whole tourism route directly to this individual stop.

Ask before photographing residents, craft-making or scenes of daily life, and before entering homes or non-public spaces. If someone does not want to be photographed, or an activity cannot be photographed or joined, enjoy observing and listening without a camera.
You can explain your preferences before food-related or interactive activities, and companions can choose to watch instead. When buying crafts, ask about materials, how they are made and their prices. Conversation can be more rewarding than rushing to finish a photograph.

Can I visit on the same day as Xiaoqikong?
Consider it as a possible combination, then compare sightseeing, activity times, meals and return travel together. If the day already involves a lot of walking or you must leave Libo, drop one activity or give it separate time.
Can I freely photograph residents and enter homes?
Ask residents or management first, and respect requests not to photograph or participate and spaces that are not open. Public tourism areas and residents' everyday living spaces need to be treated separately.
